How does uptip work?

Customers will scan your QR code with their smartphone and arrive at a tipping and review portal. The wide variety of uptip Prompts supports a broad range of staff roles and interactions. uptip provides a record of your tips and reviews within the app.

What are uptip Prompts?

uptip Prompts are uptip branded material that displays your unique QR code. uptip Prompts come in a wide range of products including business cards, static cling stickers, or table tents.

How do I set up my account?

To make an uptip and associated Stripe account, follow the in-app onboarding process available through the sign up link. All you’ll need is an email and a debit card or bank account.

Is there an app?

uptip is a web application. Go to app.uptip.co in your phone’s browser and hit the share button. From there, add the application to your home screen.

How do I use my QR code?

During the in-app onboarding process, uptip will give you the chance to sync a preexisting uptip QR code (made just for you) or generate a new one. Your unique QR code will appear on uptip Prompts. Give these to a customer or a guest so that they can scan your code and leave you a tip and review.

How do I view my ratings, feedback and
tip history?

In your uptip app, tap the menu icon in the top right corner and select “Tips + Ratings.” From here, you will be able to see your ratings, feedback, and tip history.

Any tips on how to get tips?

Write a personalized message or a smiley face on your business card. For example, you could write a thank you message or a note about tomorrow’s weather.

How do I update my profile?

In the uptip app, tap the menu icon and select “Your Profile.” From here you can edit your profile, including noting languages spoken and special knowledge.

How do I update my banking information?

In the uptip app, tap the menu icon in the upper right hand corner, then select “Tips & Ratings.” From here, select “Manage tips.” This will take you to your Stripe account where you can update your banking information.

How does uptip work?

Scan the service provider’s QR code with your smartphone camera and go to the suggested webpage. From there, you can leave a tip and a review.

Which payment methods can I use?

You can pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay or enter your card information after scanning a QR code.

How do I give a 6-star rating?

If you select a 5 star rating, you’ll have the option to increase your rating to 6 stars and give a larger tip.

Can I write a comment?

Yes. After giving a rating and a tip, you’ll have the option to leave a preselected comment or make your own.
